Description:

This workshop explores conflict resolution and/or management within organizations and other contents via effective communicative strategies. This workshop dives into understanding conflicting and compatible goals using the T.R.I.P. acronym. The workshop concludes with applying communicaiton strategies such as descriptive language, adaptation, and paraphrasing content and emotions to establish understanding and move toward resolution.

Facilitator: Dr. Robin Mathis

Robin Smith Mathis, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Communication in the School of Communication &  Media at Kennesaw State University. Her research interest is exploring socially tainted professions and how communication influences their work experience. Currently, she is working on a project examining persuasive narratives within the legislative process. Dr. Mathis has facilitated the communication and conflict workshop for American Financial Services Association summer EDGE program since 2018.
