Important Updates Regarding Advising at the CHSS UAC

In light of the recent announcement from the USG regarding limiting face-to-face interactions, your advisors will be working remotely to assist you! Beginning March 25, our office will be closed to face-to-face appointments until further notice. All appointments will be done virtually through D2L Blackboard Collaborate.

It is important that you consistently check your KSU student email for updates and more information regarding your appointments! If you have any questions or concerns, you may still contact our office via phone at 470-578-7728 or via email at chssadvising@kennesaw.edu Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Please note that drop-in advising has been suspended until further notice.

  • If you need to contact your advisor, please read the information below carefully before doing so.

Please note that scheduling an appointment will be the best way to speak to your advisor. However, if you are unable to do so, you may contact them via email. When emailing, please be sure to do the following:

    • Please correspond with your advisor using your KSU student email only
    • In your initial email, please include the following:
      • Your KSU ID#
      • Your assigned time ticket (please see information below for registration instructions and finding your time ticket)

Please remember that this is a very busy time for all advisors on campus. The advisors are diligently working to answer your questions as quickly as possible.

To ensure that advisors have the opportunity to answer in as timely a manner as possible, you MUST email the individual listed based on academic major/last name.

Welcome to the Undergraduate Advising Center!

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Undergraduate Advising Center serves students who have declared a major, minoring, an interest, or are considering a major, in the College. We assist students with appropriate course selection, fulfilling general education requirements, understanding pre-requisite requirements for their major, creating academic plans, and finding and referring students to other campus resources for their academic success.

Advising is an integral approach in a student’s progression toward graduation. Academic advising helps students to navigate through the rules and regulations of the Institute; helps students stay on track for graduation; disarm the traps of class pre-requisites; guard against students taking additional classes that will cost more money and delay graduation.
