KSU German Studies program designated a German Center of Excellence

KENNESAW, Ga. (Oct 11, 2016)It is with great pleasure to announce that Kennesaw State University's German program has been designated a German Center of Excellence by the American Association of Teachers of German. This is a welcome designation to our program. We were complimented on having a well-established and growing German program with strong support from the administration, colleagues, alumni, parents, and students. Furthermore, the selection panel noted the exemplary faculty with credentials appropriate to the teaching assignment and an appropriate faculty-student ratio. Most impressive to them is the program's curriculum. They liked that there is a clear, articulated sequence of instructional programming that is standards-based and reflects current methodologies. Also, they appreciated that the materials used in the program are culturally authentic and interdisciplinary connections have been established. Finally, they stated that the German program at Kennesaw State is designed to meet the needs of students with a faculty that clearly values student feedback and has a good rapport between faculty and students.

This was a team effort, and congratulations go to everyone on the KSU German Studies Team and to those who support the program throughout the college and community.
