Theresa Andersen
Dr. Theresa Andersen is a Limited Term Assistant Professor of Geography at Kennesaw State University. She teaches physical geography courses, including Weather & Climate and Landforms. She received a B.S. in Meteorology from Iowa State University, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Geography from the University of Georgia. Her research has focused on hurricanes, tornadoes, surface–atmosphere feedbacks, and science communication.
Anil Gangadharan
Dr. Gangadharan started his teaching career as an assistant meteorologistfor the Government of India. He later joined the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala, India as an assistant professor. Dr. Gangadharan has taught various courses in meteorology at the graduate level, carried out research on meteorological aspects of air pollution, and supervised Ph.D. students. He was promoted to an associate professor of meteorology in 1998, and continued his teaching and research in India until 2001 when he came to the U.S. He has continued his passion, teaching at KSU since 2010 as a part-time assistant professor.
Dr. Gangadharan received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with Physics and Statistics as minors (University of Kerala), a Master's Degree in Meteorology (University of Cochin), and a Ph.D. in Air Pollution Meteorology (Cochin University of Science and Technology).
Josh Gilliland
Dr. Joshua M. Gilliland graduated from The Ohio State University in June 2009, earning a Bachelor of Science (undergraduate) degree in Geography with a concentration in Atmospheric Sciences and a minor in Earth Sciences with a focus in Environmental Studies. Upon graduation, he enrolled at Western Kentucky University to pursue an M.S. in Geosciences, with a graduate certificate in Geographical Information Sciences (GIS) and a Ph.D. in Geography from Louisiana State University.
Dr. Gilliland has served as a Limited-Term Assistant Professor at KSU since 2019 where he teaches introductory-level physical geography and GSS courses. Tamara Spikes
Tamara Spikes is a Limited Term Instructor of Geography. Prior to her role at Kennesaw State University, she taught Introduction to Weather and Climate at Georgia State University. Skilled in data collection, environmental compliance, and environmental health and safety, Ms. Spikes has performed environmental monitoring, which includes air, water and surface contamination, to identify potential exposure risks in the industrial, commercial and healthcare settings. Along with her dedication to the field of Environmental Science and STEM education, she works to increase the knowledge and understanding of environmental health and environmental justice amongst Atlanta’s marginalized communities. Ms. Spikes has conducted both qualitative and quantitative research that focused on water quality issues, urban flooding, environmental gentrification, and the social and environmental determinants of health impacting Atlanta’s urban core. Ms. Spikes is a proud graduate of Spelman College and Georgia State University, where she obtained a B.S. in Environmental Science and an M.S. in Geosciences respectively. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering with her local alumnae chapter, cooking and spending time with loved ones.
