Funding Needs & Donations

Funding Needs

The most significant needs of the Center for the Study of the Civil War are in support of the educational mission and public outreach and engagement.  Through Kennesaw Corps membership or direct donations, these funds help to sustain that mission and perpetuate the study of history and society through examination of this important period, with the goal of making the Center self-sustainable.

The Center for the Study of the Civil War Era continues to organize and host annual symposia for academic audiences and Civil War enthusiasts. Each symposium features nationally recognized scholars.

In addition, the Center has engaged in Civil War themed educational tours to various destinations led by park service or specialized historian/guides.

The Center will also continue its work in securing both primary and secondary research materials. These manuscripts, photographs, microforms, and books must be collected, organized, maintained, and protected for scholars, students, and the interested public.

Donations

Each of the above initiatives requires funding, and benefactors of the Center enable the continued development of each of these activities.

You may make online donations by visiting the KSU Office of Development and designating the Civil War Center as the recipient of choice.

Matching Gifts

Many employers offer matching donation programs. To verify if your (or your spouse's) employer participates, please visit the KSU Office of Development- Matching Gifts page. This page provides the most current information available on your employer’s matching gift program.

Naming Opportunities

Naming opportunities are available for these and other needs associated with the Center or for the Center itself. If you are interested in supporting The Civil War Center in this significant manner or have questions, please contact Dr. Brian S. Wills, Director, at 470-578-2966.
