Designation puts peace and conflict resolution specialists in line for grants

KENNESAW, Ga. (March 17, 2016) -Three faculty members in Kennesaw State University's recently established School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development have been placed on the Fulbright Specialist Roster, making them eligible for projects with 150 host institutions around the globe.

World Learning, which administers the Fulbright Specialist Program for the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, announced the three-year tenures of:

·       Joseph Bock, director of the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development; associate professor of international conflict management; and a former Fulbright Specialist in Greece;

·       Sherrill Hayes, director of the Masters of Science in Conflict Management Program and associate professor of conflict management;

·       Brandon Lundy, associate director of the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development and professor of anthropology.

As candidates on the Fulbright Specialist Roster, the three Kennesaw State professors are among a pool academics and professionals who may be selected for projects at host institutions seeking their credentials. If candidates are matched with host institutions during their tenure on the roster, they are eligible to receive grants as Fulbright specialists.

The Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as short-term experts - typically two to six weeks - at academic and other institutions abroad. The projects support critical priorities identified by the institutions and supported by U.S. embassies and bi-national Fulbright Commissions abroad.
