Research Contributions by Federica Santini to Volume on Italian Poetry, Those Who from Afar Look Like Flies: An Anthology of Italian Poetry from Pasolini to the Present

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Nov 1, 2017) — Congratulations to Dr. Federica Santini, Professor of Italian at Kennesaw State University, on the publication of the volume, Those Who from Afar Look Like Flies: An Anthology of Italian Poetry from Pasolini to the Present, Tome 1, 1956-1975, eds. Luigi Ballerini and Beppe Cavatorta (U of Toronto Press) (https://www.amazon.com/Those-Afar-Look-Like-Flies/dp/144263734X), Dr. Santini's contributions to this volume includes an article-length essay on poet Elio Pagliarani (pp. 537-552), 4 short essays on research poetry in its different stages (p. 55, 159, 319, and 581), as well as co-translations, with Adam Bregman, of a selection of poems by Alfredo Giuliani (pp. 335-356) and several literary criticism essays (pp. 432-444, 1374-1380, 1407-1409, and 1484-1486). As a member of the Editorial Board for this volume, Dr. Santini was also responsible for identifying authors and translators, supervising different translators, revising translations and essays, and reviewing materials in response to peer-review comments.

The volume will be celebrated at an upcoming symposium on Italian poetry, poetics, and translation at Yale on Nov. 10-11 2017, and Dr. Santini has been invited to speak at the symposium.
