Mrs. Deal along with Drs. Jennifer Dickey and Catherine Lewis recognized at Annual Awards Ceremony.

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Feb 28, 2017) — Thursday August 18th, Mrs. Deal, Drs. Jennifer Dickey and Catherine Lewis were recognized at the annual awards ceremony of the Georgia Center for the Book for Memories of the Mansion, which has been named by the Center as one of the 10 books all Georgians should read.

 

Dr. Jennifer Dickey is an Associate Professor of History and Coordinator of the Public History Program at Kennesaw State University. She joined the faculty at KSU in 2008. She has a She has a Master'd degree in heritage preservation and a Ph.D. in public history from Georgia State University. Her research focuses on the cultural impact of Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind, a subject upon which Dr. Dickey has delivered public programs in the United States and in Vietnam. Dr. Dickey has also curated an exhibit on the diplomatic history of the United States in Vietnam. 

Dr. Catherine M. Lewis is a Professor of History, Director of the Museum of History and Holocaust Education, and Assistant Vice President of Museums, Archives & Rare Books at Kennesaw State University. She received her B.A. with honors in English and History at Emory University and M.A. and Ph.D. in American Studies at the University of Iowa. She is the author, co-editor, or co-author of 12 books, including 'Memories of the Mansion.'
