HSS & A.L. Burruss Institute Faculty Scholarship award winners announced

KENNESAW, Ga. (Feb 10, 2009) — Congratulations to the following colleagues who will receive Faculty Scholarship awards in FY 2009-2010. These seed grants (maximum $5,000), funded by the College and the A.L. Burruss Institute, provide support for traditional and applied research projects. The winners in this year’s competition and their project titles are:

Stephen Collins (Political Science and International Affairs): American Economic Statecraft: The use of economic sanctions and incentives as instruments of U.S. foreign policy.

Emron Esplin (English and American Studies): Edgar Allan Poe and Twentieth Century Spanish American Fiction from 1900-1980

Mario Giraldo (Geography and Anthropology): Study of precipitation and stream yield in a Colombian Andes mountain catchment

Maureen McCarthy (Psychology): Research Methods and Statistics (textbook)
