Environmental Studies moves to the Department of Geography of Anthropology

KENNESAW, Ga. (Aug 10, 2012) — The Department of Geography and Anthropology is happy to announce the addition of Environmental Studies program to the department. The Environmental Studies program was formally housed in the Interdisciplinary Studies Department. Environmental Studies examines relationships between the human and physical landscapes. It recognizes that the two landscapes are inextricably linked, and that altering one will affect the other. Topics such as global climate change, deforestation, wetland degradation, water, soil and air pollution, sustainability, economics, ethics, policies and laws, history, and literature are examined in environmental studies. With the Department of University Studies, the program currently offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Studies with emphasis in Environmental Studies and is working on offering a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Analysis and Sustainability.
