KENNESAW, Ga. (Sep 19, 2016) — Dr. Cristina Stephens published the article “Acculturation contexts: Theorizing on the role of inter-cultural hierarchy in contemporary immigrants’ acculturation strategies” in the journal Migration Letters. The paper contributes to the refinement of acculturation theory by shedding light on the previously under-examined structural context of “intercultural hierarchy” that affects the psycho-social health of migrants. The article proposes distinctions within types of acculturation strategies which is an entirely new development in acculturation theory.
