Dr. Roxanne Donovan named Interim Associate Chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Department

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Jan 7, 2014) — As of January 1, 2014, Dr. Roxanne Donovan, will serve as the Interim Associate Chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Department while Dr. Ugena Whitlock is on sabbatical.

This appointment will be for the Spring 2014 semester.  Dr. Donovan recently served as the Interim Coordinator of African, African Diaspora Studies while Dr. Jesse Benjamin was on sabbatical.

Dr. Donovan earned a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Miami and pursuing a business career. She then returned to school to pursue her first love, psychology.

She earned a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and an MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut. She joined the KSU faculty in 2007 and has a joint appointment in the Department of Psychology and the Interdisciplinary Studies Department.

Her research explores the impact of gender and racial oppression in the lives of Black women. Dr. Donovan has publications in several journals, including Journal of Black Psychology, Training and Education in Professional Psychology, Sex Roles, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and Women and Therapy.
