Dr. Lana Wachniak to serve as Interim Faculty Executive Assistant to the Provost for KSU

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Jun 17, 2009) — Kennesaw State University and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to announce that Dr. Lana Wachniak has agreed to serve as Interim Faculty Executive Assistant to the Provost, in addition to her duties as Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She will be in this role from July 1 until her retirement on December 31, 2009.

Dr. Wachniak has served in four different administrative capacities at Kennesaw State University: as the director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning; as chairperson of the department of Sociology, Geography, Criminal Justice and Anthropology; as an interim chair in the College of Education; and as an Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She started her teaching career at Georgia Southern University and was the university's first female recipient of the distinguished teaching award.

In her role as Interim Faculty Assistant to the Provost, Dr. Wachniak will support Dr. Joyce, Dr. Whittlesey, and Dr. Black with several initiatives, including the refinement of Kennesaw State faculty search processes.
