KENNESAW, Ga. (Oct 13, 2010) — Drs. Nancy Hoalst-Pullen and Mark Patterson have received word that their book entitled "Geospatial Techologies and the Environment" has just been published by Springer.

The co-edited book is the third volume under the Geotechnologies and the Environment book series. Using a series of case studies, the book explores the approaches and applications of geospatial technologies to understand past, present, and future impacts environmental policies and management practices have on the landscape. To note, one of the contributing authors to the book is Dr. Jun Tu; his chapter uses geospatial techniques to examine urbanization and water quality in Massachusetts. A book signing is scheduled for later in the semester and copies will be available for purchase.

Nancy, Mark and Jun are all Geography faculty in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at KSU. Congratulations to all of them!
