Certificate in Political Communication

This certificate program emphasizes the intersection of politics and communication. Students will gain exposure to academic theory and hands-on learning experience that focuses on the relationships between political structures, systems, and processes and professional communication, journalism and public relations in particular. It is designed for students seeking preparation for careers in a number of fields, such as political and campaign consulting, public policy and media analysis, speech writing, political journalism, and public relations. The internship serves as a capstone experience and must be fulfilled in a setting relevant to political communication.
