Summer 2019 - Venture to Vietnam

For the first time in KSU history, we will be venturing to Vietnam for a 28-day journey through Northern and Central Vietnam! This will be led by Dr. Nicole Martin and Dr. Teresa Neal, both members of the Psychology department, who bring their experience with Vietnam, Vietnamese culture, and cross-cultural immersion to this month-long educational and service experience.

Students can earn 3 - 9 credits for upper division Psychology courses:

PSYC 3305 - Lifespan Development in Vietnam (3 hours)

PSYC 3355 - Cross - Cultural Psychology (3 hours)

PSYC 4490 - Ethnic Minority Families (3 hours)

These classes are part of the major requirements for all Psychology students, though all majors are welcome.

Summer 2018 – KSU in Tuscany Program (Montepulciano, Italy)

The KSU in Tuscany program brings students together from colleges and universities across Georgia for five weeks of study and exploration in the Tuscany region of Italy. While in Italy, we will explore course materials through the lens of Tuscan culture and take weekly field trips to other locations such as Rome, Florence, and Pisa. Students can choose from two different summer sessions – I and II – and pick two classes to take during this session. Course offerings span a variety of majors and, this upcoming summer, PSYC 3355: Cross-Cultural Psychology will be taught during Summer Session II (late June to late July) by Dr. Katherine White from KSU. The cost of the program is around $5,000, but this would be brought down to $4,000 with $1,000 in Global Learning Scholarships (2.5 GPA required). Tuition is NOT included in the price.

Summer 2018 – European Council Programs (6 countries to choose from!)

In summer 2018, there are six countries (seven locations) to choose from: UK (London and Edinburgh), France (Paris), Spain (Madrid), Germany (Berlin), Ireland (Waterford), and Russia (St. Petersburg). A variety of courses are offered in each location. Dr. Ginny Zhan from KSU will be teaching two upper-level psychology courses: PSYC 3355: Cross-Cultural Psychology and PSYC 3425: Psychology of Gender. Prices vary depending on the length of the program (from $2,995 to $5,500), and eligible KSU students (2.5 GPA) will receive $1,000 in Global Learning Scholarship, bringing down the price to about $1,995 to $4,500.
