Summer Internship Opportunity - University of Virginia

KENNESAW, Ga. (Nov 18, 2011) — We’re looking forward to our fifth year of the Summer Undergraduate Research Program in Educational Psychology: Applied Developmental Science & Education Policy in Summer 2012. Our internship program is designed to encourage students from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field of education research to consider careers in academic, policy, or research organizations. We have had wonderful students participate over the past few years, all of whom came highly recommended by faculty such as you. These students have spent 8 weeks at UVA engaged in ongoing research projects in the education sciences under the mentorship of our faculty and graduate students and participating in workshops, lab meetings, conferences, and social events. We are writing now to request your help as we prepare for Summer 2012. Could you please let your colleagues and current 3^rd year students know about our program? Rising seniors are eligible for these paid research internships at UVA during Summer 2012. Interns will work with faculty on ongoing research focusing on schools, classrooms, and other youth settings as contexts critical to child and adolescent development. They will have the opportunity to collect and analyze data, write a section of a research paper, participate in research meetings, attend a research conference, and participate in related workshops and a GRE prep course.
