Planning for SAUPO 2015: An Interview with Dr. Hai Ho

KENNESAW, Ga. (May 1, 2015) — By SAUPO Staff Writer Patricia Chourio

In the past 4 years SAUPO has been recognized as one of the largest Asia business conferences in the Southeast. Thanks to the hard work of Dr. May Gao and the support of a very committed and diverse planning committee, the conference has grown in strength and attendees.

As a new member of the SAUPO planning committee Dr. Hai Ho has proved to be a true liaison and advocate in his efforts to connect the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology with the conference. Moreover, he succeeded in raising funds and sponsorship for the conference as well as creating awareness surrounding SAUPO’s mission. As the newly appointed SAUPO vice Chair, Dr. Ho’s vision continues to expand. With nearly 25 years of corporate experience he brings an industry perspective to the classroom. He understands the importance of bridging the gap between the classroom and the professional world; which is why he believes SAUPO is such a relevant conference to be a part of.

In his own words Dr. Ho explained how conferences such as SAUPO can help “grow our college into a world class college of engineering with diverse outreach and involvement that includes industries, businesses and government”.

When asked what advice he would give students attending the conference, Dr. Ho replied that students should take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet and interact with executives from some of the top corporations in the world. He emphasizes how important it is for students to develop their communication and networking skills in order to succeed in the business world.

As he continues his work as SAUPO vice chair, Dr. Ho looks forward to building strong relationships with corporations in order to help grow the scope and reach of SAUPO.

The 2015 SAUPO event will be held on April 17 at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta. For more information, visit www.kennesaw.edu/saupo or follow the organization on Twitter @SAUPO_ or Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/SAUPO/723940397713986.
