Inaugural Paul and Beverly Radow Lecture Series on Jewish Life a roaring success

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Apr 26, 2013) — More than 150 people attended the lecture “Bagels and Grits: A History of Jews in the South,” by Dr. Stuart Rockoff on April 24, 2013, launching the inaugural Paul and Beverly Radow Lecture Series on Jewish Life. The event was sponsored by the Kennesaw State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Department of Museums, Archives & Rare Books, and the KSU Foundation. Series creator Norman Radow is the immediate past chair of the Kennesaw State University Foundation and president and CEO of RADCO, an Atlanta-based real estate development company. He launched the series to honor his parents’ life-long contributions to culture and education in their community. Rockoff is the immediate past-president of the Southern Jewish Historical Society and former director of the History Department at the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life. In a dynamic and interactive lecture, he discussed the rich history of Jewish life in the South, telling stories and surprising the audience with tales of immigration, commerce, and community building.
