Congratulations to our Award Winning Faculty! CHSS takes home nine awards at the KSU Faculty Awards Ceremony.

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Aug 16, 2017) — The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to announce that our faculty shined at the 2017 KSU Faculty Awards Ceremony. CHSS faculty won nine awards in total. The winners were: Laura Davis, May Gao, Roxanne Donovan, Michelle Devereaux, Mandy McGrew, Darina Lepadatu, David Jones, Maia Hallward, and Heidi Scherer.

Details of awards received by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences:

  • KSU Distinguished Professor Award winner – David Jones, professor of philosophy
  • KSU Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award winner: Laura Davis, associate professor of interdisciplinary studies and English
  • KSU Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award finalist: Darina Lepadatu, professor of sociology
  • Outstanding Research and Creative Activity Awards winner: Roxanne Donovan, assistant chair of interdisciplinary studies and professor of psychology
  • Outstanding Research and Creative Activity Awards winner: Maia Hallward, professor of Middle East politics, school of conflict management, peacebuilding and development
  • Diversity Advocate Award winner: Roxanne Donovan, assistant chair of interdisciplinary studies and professor of psychology
  • Outstanding Community Engagement Award winner: May Hongmei Gao, professor of interdisciplinary studies and school of communication and media
  • Outstanding Early Career Faculty Award winner: Heidi Scherer, associate professor of criminal justice AND Michelle Devereaux, associate professor of English education
  • Outstanding Part-Time Teaching Award winner: Mandy McGrew, ISD and CETL
